Invited to both the Venice Film Festival and the Toronto Film festival in 2016, The Journey was released worldwide in the summer of 2017. The Journey is a fictional account of the extraordinary story of two implacable enemies in Northern Ireland — firebrand Democratic Unionist Party leader Ian Paisley and Sinn Fein politician Martin McGuinness — who are forced to take a short journey together in which they will take the biggest leap of faith and change the course of modern history. The Journey notably received a special screening in the UK’s Parliament with an introduction by the UK Speaker John Bercow MP.

The much acclaimed screenplay by Colin Bateman, which was developed with the assistance of Northern Ireland Screen, is directed by Nick Hamm and produced by Piers Tempest and Mark Huffam. The films stars Tim Spall, Colm Meaney, Toby Stephens, Catherine Mcormack with Freddie Highmore and John Hurt.
